Epileptic seizures are common in children with PCH2 and can take various forms.
Epileptic seizures are considered one of the main symptoms of PCH2. The types of seizures associated with PCH2 are very diverse. In addition to generalized tonic-clonic seizures, absence seizures and atonic seizures also occur. Fever-associated seizures have also been reported. Children with PCH2 are also at increased risk of developing status epilepticus.

Senior Physician PD Dr. Wibke Janzarik heads the neuropediatric outpatient clinic at the University Medical Center Freiburg.
